Mark Wehrly
Director of Championships and Rules at Golf Ireland
Mark is the Director of Championships and Rules at Golf Ireland, where his responsibilities encompass overseeing championship operations, the application of the rules of the game, including the Rules of Golf, Rules of Handicapping and Rules of Amateur Status, and enhancing the overall player experience at events.
Mark has been involved in golf administration for over fifteen years and, before the creation of Golf Ireland, was Championship Manager at the Golfing Union of Ireland. He holds The R&A’s Level 4 Advanced Referee qualification, and has officiated at some of the game’s most prestigious events including The Open Championship on two occasions. He was Event Director for the 2018 World Amateur Team Championships at Carton House.
